В ноябре я завершил участие в турнирах серии Tennis Europe. Принимая решение играть турнир Kremlin Cup U14 Category1, я поставил перед собой задачу, как минимум, выйти в финал. Готовился к турниру очень серьёзно.
К занятиям в группе на Спартаке, добавились индивидуальные двухчасовые тренировки с тренером-спаррингом Бирюковым Михаилом. Я набирал хорошую форму, уверенность и стабильность. Но за неделю до турнира все тренировки пришлось отменить из- за ОРВИ. Только в день регистрации я снова вышел на корт.

The final event to be played in 2011 concluded on New Year’s Day. The Open des 10-12 in Boulogne-Billancourt has a long history of producing champions that go on to have great careers. This year’s boys winner Alexey Zakharov (RUS) fought his way past six opponents, including Tomas Machac (CZE), who he beat in a tough final 3-6 6-0 6-4. Another Czech reached the girls’ final, as Lucie Kankova was beaten 6-2 6-4 by Ukraine’s Oleksandra Andrieieva. A day earlier, Kankova had teamed with compatiot Anna Kynclova to take the girls’ doubles title, while Zakharov had partnered Leonid Sheyngezikhit (RUS) to capture their first title together (a fifth doubles win of the season for Zakharov).

After a quiet time following the Junior Masters, the Tennis Europe Junior Tour swung back into action last week with four events across Europe.
The biggest event of the week in terms of points available was the Category 2 16 & Under Swiss Junior Trophy in Biel (SUI). Top seeded Russian Roman Safiullin won the boys’ title, collecting his seventh Tennis Europe Juniuor Tour title of the year. Having dropped a set to Swiss qualifier Pascal Nicholls in the first round Safiullin never looked back, improving in each match and eventually claiming the title with a 6-0 6-2 win over third seed Simone Roncalli (ITA) in the final.

12 & Under
Last week also saw three 12 & under events staged. The Azores Open in Portugal saw a double triumph for players from the United States, with Alexander Del Corral and Claire Liu taking the singles crowns. Tomas Almeida and Joao Antonio picked up their second title in a fortnight with a doubles win, while the girls’ doubles title match proved to be a monumental battle, with Portuguese pair Marta Magalhaes & Marta Oliviera coming from behind to secure a thrilling 3-6 7-6(9) 19-17 win.
Czech players swept the singles titles at the 64-draw Zentiva Cup event in Rakovnik, with Patrik Rikl and Marketa Vondrousova emerging victorious. Beaten singles finalist Kacper Zuk (POL) teamed with Alexey Zakharov (RUS) for the boys’ doubles, while another Pole, Karolina Szmit, took the girls’ crown, alongside partner Monika Kilnarova (CZE).
